About Us

Pete, founder of CompareWize, comparing headphones and smartwatches at his desk

Hi, I’m Pete — and I built Compare Wize for people who just want a straight answer to one nagging question: which one should I actually buy?

I’ve lost more weekends than I’d care to admit going down that rabbit hole. You open ten tabs, every site says something different, half of them clearly never touched the product, and an hour later you’re more confused than when you started. Compare Wize is my answer to that mess.

What we actually do

We don’t pile on with yet another single opinion. Instead, we read across the whole field — expert reviews, hands-on tests, long-term write-ups, owner feedback — and pull it together into one clear picture for each product.

For every recommendation the goal is simple: show you where the reviewers agree, and just as importantly, where they don’t. A gaming mouse that every tester praises for its sensor but half of them find too small for large hands? You should know both of those things before you spend a cent.

How I approach it

  • Breadth first. One review is a data point. A dozen is a pattern. I look for the consensus, not the loudest voice.
  • Disagreement is signal. When credible reviewers split on something, that’s usually the exact thing that depends on you — your hand size, your desk, your budget. I call those out instead of hiding them.
  • Plain language. No spec-sheet soup. If a number matters, I explain why; if it doesn’t, I leave it out.
  • No pressure. You won’t find countdown timers or “buy now or miss out” nonsense here. The point is a better decision, not a faster one.

Independence

Compare Wize isn’t owned by a manufacturer and isn’t anyone’s marketing channel. I keep the recommendations and the way the site pays for itself completely separate — so what you read is simply what I’d tell a friend who asked.

Why “Compare Wize”

Because buying smart isn’t about reading everything — it’s about reading the right things, weighed the right way. That’s the job I’ve taken on, so you don’t have to.

Got a product you’d like us to dig into? I’d genuinely love to hear it.
